The Pearl

The pearl

There once was a pearl that forgot she was a pearl

And thought, in the stem of her thoughts, that she was a marble of mud.

From the intensiveness of this primordial and mistaken thought,

A thick layer of mud and sadness was radiated around her.

The mistaken pearl did not like being a marble of mud,

But everywhere she went she carried with her, unknowingly,

The muddy thought, even though she did her best to be cheerful,

And hide from the world that which emanated from her –

Guilt, shame, need for punishment, fear and anger.

Other pearls, alike her,

That had also forgotten their pearlness,

Treated her the same way they mistakenly treated themselves –

As if she were truly a marble of mud.

Time went by, and the pearl that thought she was a marble of mud,

Met a different pearl, that loved herself, since she saw in her-self her pearl-self,

And was glad of her pearly-light that sang with the pearly-light of the world.

The seeing pearl reminded the muddy pearl

Of her wonderful inner beauty, set deep inside her,

And told her a great deal of the mud lessons of us all,

And of the pearl light of the One that is the pearl light of the world.

The awakening remembrance of her exquisite pearly beauty

Slowly melted the pearl's sadness,

Until she recovered and healed of her thought`s mistakes,

And shed the muddy layer that once surrounded her.

Now the truthful memory of the pearl radiated

Her wonderful unique light, and she

became open and happy, confident in her pearlness, healthy and joyful.

Everywhere she went the pearl now brought with her

Her light, which melted layers of mud and secrecy,

Thus allowing mature pearls to agree to reveal

Their wonderful light, unique to them,

To love their pearlness – the pearlness of the world,

And to entwine it in many deeds of light.
